How to beat RED
- Inspect your team before the battle. You can reorder your Pokémon and check their moves in the menu.
- A Ground-type Pokémon avoids Pikachu’s Electric attacks. Check his other moves before deciding how to respond.
- Rock-type moves are especially effective against Charizard. Physical Fighting attacks can exploit Snorlax’s lower Defense.
- Consider Dark, Ghost or Bug moves against Espeon. In Generation III, the move’s type determines whether it is physical or special.
- Switching uses your turn. Preserve a Pokémon you will need later, but remember that bag items are unavailable.
Frequently asked questions
What to know before you climb to the summit.
What is Daily Red?
A daily Pokémon challenge inspired by amoi-builds’ project. You receive six level 100 Pokémon from Generations I–III and face RED’s fixed team using the Pokémon FireRed engine.
How many times can I play?
You get one recorded battle per day in this browser. Reloading before facing RED gives you the same team.
Does everyone get the same team?
Yes: the same calendar date produces the same team in both Spanish and English. Dates use your local time zone. Changing language does not grant another attempt.
When does the next challenge start?
At midnight in your local time zone. After your result, a countdown shows when the next battle unlocks.
Which battle rules apply?
Generation III rules in the FireRed engine: a move’s type determines whether it is physical or special. There is no Fairy type or modern per-move split. Bag items are unavailable and battle style is locked to SET.
What if I close or reload the page?
Before the battle, you can start again with the same team. Once RED’s battle begins, leaving or reloading counts as a loss. An unfinished battle cannot be resumed later.
Where are my wins and streaks saved?
In this browser’s local storage. Both languages share the same record. Records do not sync between devices, and clearing site data resets them. If storage is blocked, results last only for the current visit.
Can I play on mobile? Is this official?
Yes: use the directional pad and A, B, Start and Select buttons below the screen. On a computer, use the keyboard. This is a free, unofficial fan project with no affiliation with Nintendo or The Pokémon Company.
